Mama always told me...

a sewers best friend is the iron... and it is... after great fabric and the sewing machine itself...

I really am not to keen on my iron. I tend to "forget" there's a pile of clothes on my ironing board and groan at the site of it... so, i wear special contacts so i don't see it! Really, when it comes between ironing or doing something else... i always choose the something else...

A minha mãe sempre disse que o melhor amigo da costureira é o ferro de engomar... e é... a seguir a tecidos fantásticos e a máquina de costura...

não sou muito amiga do meu ferro. Tendo a esquecer que há uma pilha de roupa em cima da tábua e resmungo quando a vejo, por isso uso lentes especiais que não me deixam vê-lo.

A sério... entre passar a roupa a ferro e outra coisa qualquer... escolho sempre outra coisa qualquer...

Aprendemos esta técnica no workshop da Rita... mas ainda não tinha tido oportunidade de praticar...

we learned this technic in Rita's workshop, but i still hadn't tried...

É difícil, acreditem... tudo cosido à mão... e os alfinetes atrapalham, prende-se a linha.... outch!

it's tough work, believe me... all handstitched and all those pins keeps it hard not to tangle the thread... outch!!!!

mas adoro... e vou adorar ainda mais estar com o meu grupo de patch no próximo sábado dia 23.... o dia antes do meu aniversário...

but i love it.... and i will love even more being with my "craft circle" next saturday, 23rd... for the rest of the workshop... the day before my birthday...

sim, vou ter uma prenda para alguém.... olhos bem abertos!!!

Este fim de semana para mim começa "hoje"... vou de abalada para descansar, ou talvez nem por isso!

This weekend starts today for me... i am off to rest, or maybe not!

I obviously can't take my sewing... i feel like it (i know i'm nuts!)! but i will take my knitting..

É óbvio que não levo a costura... apetece-me (eu sei que sou louca!)! mas levo o tricot!

Continuo com as alfineteiras, mas acabou-se-me o "batting" que uso para enchê-las (restos), olha Paulinha, uma boa coisa para colocares no teu blog, aproveitamento de restos....

E nesta, se repararem, há um retalho que foi cosido do avesso... de propósito, sim.... uma experiência que teniono utilizar depois a séio num quilt... que ando a planear (Rita levo o meu bloco quadriculado!)... e que é uma ideia que eu desconhecia antes de ter o livro "quilt road" do Kaffe Fassett... faz as peças parecerem "velhas"! Esta alfineteira vai directo para a minha loja:)

I am still making my pincushions, but i am out of leftover batting i use to fill them... Look Paula, a good idea for your blog, using leftovers...

If you pay attention, you can see that i reversed one piece of fabric... i am tsting on a small piece, planning for a quilt i am thinking off (Rita, i will take my "notbook")... this is an idea I had never heard of before i got Kaffe Fassett's book, quilt Road... makes quilts look "older"! this pincushion is off to my shop here!

It's his fault... he bought me this book for my son to give me... and now, i am in love... with the quilts, with the fabric...

É culpa dele, que comprou este livro para o meu filho me oferecer... e agora, estou apaionada... com os quilts, com os tecidos...

Esta semana andei em arrumações... Sou péssima a organizar, ou melhor, organizo, mas depressa consigo pôr tudo em estava de sítio... Bem me dava jeito que a minha querida Paulinha me ajudasse!
This week i was organizing stuff, putting things away... i am not too good at it, better, i am ok at it, but then i am able to undo everything so fast and get back to caos... i really need a hand from my dear Paula.!
O Rafa que gosta de caixas, achou por bem que esta fosse a sua casa... e ontém viu um filme inteiro sentado dentro dela... não admira que no final estivesse a queixar-se das “formigas” nas pernas (dormentes)...
Rafa who loves boxes, decided to make this one his house... yesterday he watched a movie sitting inside it... so, it's not too strange at the end he was complaining his feet had “ants”(numb);



De cada vez que dou a volta ás coisas, dou sempre de caras com esse patch maluco que fiz.... e acho que é desta que faço alguma coisa dele...
Each time i clean up i find this crazy patch i made and i think now i will finally find some use to it...

i forgot.... esqueci-me....

because i was so enthusiastic about the workshop, although i meant to begin my last post with a special thank you for all the sweet posts on my blogiversary post - i didn't!

A foto acima é do meu trabalho do workshop terminado... a foto nao está boa e ok, precisava de ter passado o bloco a ferro (perfect housewife), fiz-o simples, colocando só um tecido por trás... sim, se é que a esta mistura de cores se pode chamar simples...

A coisa que mais gosto na vida de "mulher" é mesmo ser mãe... limpar a casa, passar a ferro, enfim... é preciso, mas... a minha casa é um caos... dá-me umas agulhas com lãs ou tecidos que já te digo...

The thing i actually like most about being a "housewife" is really being a mother... ironing, cleaning, well, it must be done... but my house is really caos!!! but give me needles and fabric or yarn and i WILL tell YOU!!!

Comprei este avental à Marta Mourão... é lindo e por isso me diverti a brincar à "dona de casa perfeita" a tirar umas fotos para poder colocar no grupo dela... confeccionado com perfeição, mesmo se tens "receio" de comprar coisas pela internet, vale mesmo a pena!

I bought this apron at Marta Mourão... it's beautiful and i had fun playing perfect housewife for her flickr group... it's perfectly made, so even if you're afraid to buy stuff on the net, it's worth it!

Agora está na hora do café, que isto de ser dona de casa cansa!!! Amanhã estou na Ritacor num workshop de patchwork:)

Now i need a coffee break, this housewife stuff is tiering!!! Tomorrow i'm at Ritacor for a patchwork workshop:)
